Hi, my full name is Eric Ravn Wenstrøm, I am 52 years old, living in Norway. My art is inspired by expressionism and also the oldmaster style of painting skin and light in my paintings. First in my career I almost only did this technique , but later years I loosened up a bit in my painting style. I must also say that Edvard Munch is a big inspiration for me, and sometimes that shows trough in my paintings. I can recognize myself so much in his life, feelings, and when I paint, I try to paint a feeling a inner life, or something I saw, inner feelings of the humans in my paintings like love, sorrow, jealousy, shyness, fear and lonesomeness, solitude and melancholy . When painting I always listen to classic music like Chopin, Brahms,Vivaldi,Mozart, that also brings me in the right mood when painting. I mostly paint on canvas, and prefer large canvases as I am expressive when I paint. Fast strokes and speed, impulse and hard work with the canvases.

I first explored oil painting as a little boy, my father was a traditional painter, so he gave me paint and brushes very early. In fact I have Oilpaintings I painted early as 1973. I was 4 years old.

I have always explored different ways to communicate trough my art, like in my drawings, my sculptures or in my graphic works. Everytime I get back to oils on canvases, that's my medium.

In early age, people around said to me that: "Eric you must paint and paint"!! - but it should not be that easy. A lot of things happened in my 52 year old life, but the last 20 years I really feel I am in a good flow. Producing and painting almost every day. I daily work in a psychiatry hospital, but I work shifts, so I can really be creative in my off-duty days. I hope you like my art, and thank you for reading about me and my art.
