What is video art?

Video art is an art genre that was born in the 60s, with moving images as a medium. As advances in video and digital technology have increased, this genre has become increasingly common. Video art can either be created in the form of a standalone installation or as a way to further emphasize other art forms, sometimes even in combination with sound. Video art can also mean everything from live-action, to animations and documentaries, which are either looped or follow a clear dramaturgy.
