Textile art - what is it?

Textile as a medium has a long history, but within the art world in particular it can sometimes perceived as a newer genre. This is despite the fact that textile arts and crafts were already created in anitquity, for example in the form of beautiful tapestries and clothing, where the crafts were intended to be decorative, rather than useful.

Today, the genre of textile art is very broad. From textile paintings, embroideries and fantastic tapestries, to cushion covers with beautiful paintings and trendy wall hangings in macramé. A textile artist can create fantastic works using many different techniques. Textile art can sometimes also lie on the border of mixed media, where the artist has used more mediums than just textiles.

Personal interior design with textile art

With textile original art, you not only get a beautiful work of art, but you also get a home that feels warm, personal, and cozy. A large and decorative textile rug on the wall can make a dramatic impression in the sparsely decorated home. There, it can take center stage and act as the room's eye-catcher. With beautiful cushion covers, you can decorate your sofa, armchair, or bed, with beautiful textile art, while increasing the coziness factor. Or why not invest in textile paintings with interesting textures that catch the eye's interest?
