Filip Lundberg
”Phil of Sweden”

Artist

About me

Swedish gay artist Filip Lundberg (born 1980) studied three years of art in Swedish high school with a big focus on personal expression.

The first group art exhibition Filip participated in was in May 2013, during the West Pride in Gothenburg; this became the starting point for a number of other art exhibitions, both collaborative exhibitions and his own.

His first own art exhibition took place in Stockholm in January 2014, and was a very appreciated and successful event that drew a lot of people.

Later in October 2014 he also participated in a group art exhibition organized by Sensus in Jönköping and got a lot of new connections within the art world.

These new contacts led to Filip also exhibiting art at the Royal Opera Arcade Gallery in London in march of 2015, where he, one of 3 selected Swedish artists, was allowed to represent Sweden in this great world exhibition that celebrated all the world’s mothers on Mother’s Day; this also became one of Philip’s favorite memories in his art career. After this, Filip has had a number of exhibitions in Sweden amongst other things, he was allowed to participate in a large assembly exhibition during Euro Pride in August 2018 in Stockholm Pride Park. Before that, Filip had had his own exhibition in Gamla Stan in Stockholm in June 2018 which he had named “My Wonderland” that was an art exhibition that was Alice in Wonderland themed.

Filip loves to create beautiful works of art in the hopes that they can touch other people’s hearts.

Fillip has a lot of  Fantasy-artists inspirations; such as Boris Vallejo, Julie Bell, and Jonathon Earl Bowser. Filip is also inspired by artists like Tom of Finland, Thomas Kinkade, Gustav Klimt, Aphonse Mucha, Fabian Ngu and Joe Phillips.

Filip is a big Walt Disney fan and he loves everything that has to do with Disney, he gets a lot of inspiration for his art from Disney’s fairy tale world as well, and he owns a large Disney collection at home.

Manga, animation and video game art in general have been a great source of inspiration for Filip. He also loves photo art, and he loves photographers like Pierre et Gilles, Annie Leibovitz, and David LaChapelle.

Filip has a great passion for music and film, during his process he always listens to his favorite music or watches a good movie to get in an inspired, creative mood.

Filip loves to create art with colored pencils and acrylic paint.

In Filip’s art, homoeroticism is reflected in a mixture of Fantasy art, fairy tale art and realism.

Filip sees himself as a very happy, positive and outgoing person and he loves to make new contacts.
