About me

My name is Dana Mohseni and born in year 1984. My heritage is Iranian, but I was also born and raised here in Sweden, especially in Gothenburg. Since 2013, I have illustrated figures of historical women from different historical eras and the main theme is primarily about non-white women or women in the global south.

Since 2017, I have participated in some exhibitions:

  • Ortens Konstfestival september 2017
  • Frölunda Bibliotek 24/3 – 30/3 2018
  • Viktors Kafé Maj 2018
  • Majornas Bibliotek 30/7 – 10/8
  • Art solo Exhibition at the Hammarkullen tram station.

Overall, I’m a dedicated Star Wars fan and the Jedi philosophies and nowadays, I’m spiritually dedicated to the Force.

Education:

  • Graduated Graphic Design at Folkuniversitet 2019 Sep-Dec.
  • Studied Graphic Design and Education First 2020 14 Sep-11 Dec.
  • Studied English C1 and gained Certificate of Achievement C1-level and Course Certification.
  • I have had various odd jobs and internships until I became a part-time employee at Multimedium since 2014.

Technique:

I am self-taught and have over time been using markers, ink pens for example; promarkers, copic chao, brush markers because
I have always preferred brushing pens over paintbrush.

Inspiration:

Japanese manga, Persian miniatures and Western comic artforms has been my main source of artforms inspirations and as for the artists, without a doubt Frida Kahlo, Marjane Satrapi and Hiromu Arakawa.
